Yashica Electro 35 CC

by M. Feuerbacher 2003

The Yashica Electro 35 series was continued with a new design with the 35 GX and the 35 CC (...more). The bodies of these cameras were significantly smaller and lighter than of the previous electro 35 series, the light meter is now above the lens (ATL), which not only has the often cited advantages that filter factors are automatically accounted for and that you will not forget to take the lens cap off before shooting because the light meter warns you. The ATL design moreover allows you to save battery power by putting a lens cap on which is not possible with the previous models. The 35 GX has a color yashinon f/1.7 40 mm lens and the 35 CC, which is shown on the right has a f/1.8 35 mm lens. The 35 CC is very rare.

A wealth of information on Yashica rangefinders is provided by the Yashica Guy.
